This early 1900’s home had a lot of charm, but the kitchen flow was stuck in a bygone era. In times past, homes had large dining areas and small, out of sight, functional areas where the messy stuff happened like dishes, prepping, and cooking.
This homeowner was eager to transform the spaces in the home to a new era where cooking and dining are done in one large space.
The end result transformed the spaces. An unused doorway was patched in to become an open wall for the new Thermador gas range and hood.
The existing windows were shortened to allow for a sink and dishwasher, new Andersen windows were installed in their place.
Old barn boards were salvaged and finished to create custom shelving throughout the space.
The space that previously held the sink was made into a proper butlers pantry with plenty of extra storage and pull out drawers for trash, recycling, and pet food!
The original hardwood floors were sanded and refinished.
